The Artist Rise #024

Welcome to your weekly resource for all things branding, release strategy, and overall artist development.

Every week I'll help you tackle brand-building and strengthen your artistry by asking questions that dig deeper into your true artist self.

Let's get into it.

2025 is up next

How are we feeling heading into 2025? What do we want to accomplish? And what steps do we have to take to make that become a reality?

Last edition of the year

The 24th newsletter being the last one of 2024 just feels right, so this is what I want to leave you with before we kick off 2025.

New Year's resolutions are a real thing that people set, and it's just as real how hard it is to follow up with them.

Maybe you're think you'll release 12 songs, or write 5 songs a week, or maybe you've set your mind on practicing your instrument for 30 minutes every day.

We love a habit-focused goal as much as we love to break them.

But it's the system and the bigger picture around that that does two things for you:

  1. Enables you to actually accomplish building the habits you want to build
  2. And become a stronger overall artist rather than just stronger in one aspect

Here's what I mean.

Setting a goal around doing means you're setting aside your time and effort towards something.

Setting a goal around growing means you're working towards improving something.

Don't get me wrong, good habits are keys to being a good artist, you are a product of what you spend your time doing.

But if leveling up as an artist is what you're after, that means you have to set goals to grow.

Let's marinate on that for a moment.

Ask yourself: what do I want being an artist to look like in 2025? What are some things I haven't done yet but I want to do?

And that's where we start.

Goals that work

Having the goal is half the battle. The other half is setting yourself up to make it a reality.

If you want to get yourself out there and play more shows, set a mark you want to hit.

Then make a plan for how you're going to make it happen.

If you want to build your email list, set a number to hit, and start figuring out how to drive your content to it.

If you want to collaborate on your next project, define what you want to collaboration to look like, and start networking until you've found what you're looking for.

Goals without plans aren't goals, they're aimless ideas. A goal is something that gets you closer to where you want to go.

2025 is your year.

Until next time (in 2025),

-Ava

Let's tackle 2025

If you're someone that wants to roll out a project next year, but struggle with the planning and balancing all of what comes a long with it, then this is for you. I'm looking for a few artists that could use some help with the strategy/branding pieces and want to regain clarity around releasing music. Interested? Let's chat.

That's it for this week! Hopefully this helped you take the next step in developing yourself as an artist and a brand. Stay tuned for more next week.

If you have any topics you want to see more of or any questions you'd love for me to answer, simply reply to this email.

Keep learning and growing,

Ava Rose Lynch
